GYST: 2019: What to Do if You Didn’t Reach Your Goals

Barefoot Running Sandals by Xero Shoes

Hi everyone! Welcome to another episode of the Spiritual Alien Podcast.

So, to continue this series to help you Get Your Shit Together, this episode is about what to do if you did NOT reach your 2019 goals. Tonight I want you to once again whip out your phone or notepad with pen or pencil and take some notes with me. While you do that, you can pause me and I’ll wait for you or you can stay with me as I continue with the brief introduction before moving on to some points that I want you to ponder on and even ask yourself.

As I mentioned in the previous episode, at the end of every year, most of us make resolutions, write down goals and make a list of the things we wish to achieve when the New Year ends. Some of us achieve our goals and others don’t.

So, what happens when you don’t achieve your goals? Absolutely nothing as it is not the end of the world. However, you might feel very frustrated in yourself. I want you to know that it’s perfectly fine to feel down and frustrated, however, I do have a problem if you become toxic and abusive towards yourself for not meeting your own expectations. This is a programmed pattern that you have adapted to, perhaps from other people close to you like family members or friends who are abusive and toxic with you when you do not meet their expectations. I want you to be aware of your thoughts and switch your mindset if a self-defeating thought comes to mind. Replace “I never do anything right” to “I am learning new things” and see how you feel. Perhaps shocked, as it was my experience, or weirded out, but you’ll get used to it. If you are used to being abusive with yourself, you can get used to being loving with yourself.

GYST: Holidays 2019: 5 Eco-Friendly Gift Ideas!

Barefoot Running Sandals by Xero Shoes

Hi everyone! Welcome to another episode of the Spiritual Alien Podcast.

So, to continue this series to help you Get Your Shit Together, this episode is about brainstorming some eco-friendly ideas of potential gifts for your loved ones for this Holiday season!

As the Holiday season approaches, so does the anxiety of wondering and not knowing what you are going to gift to your parents, siblings, friends and so on. This is especially difficult if you are a vegan who lives a minimalist life and you are just not into this whole cycle of buying, consumption and materialism, or vice-versa, if you are gifting to a vegan family member or friend. Your meat-eating parents probably won’t appreciate you buying them a vegan cookbook as an indirect way to tell them to go vegan, but you can get them a practical gift that they will reuse which connects to some of the points in this episode that I will share next.

So, with that said, tonight I will share with you 5 eco-friendly gift ideas that you can benefit from as well as those you love, so you can help the environment while you get your shit together.

GYST: Organize Your Chaos with Lists!

Hi everyone! Welcome to another episode of the Spiritual Alien Podcast.

So, to continue this series to help you Get Your Shit Together, this episode is about organizing yourself by putting things in order by turning your thoughts into a useful list. Having a list is a great way to keep track of what you have to do and to remind yourself of the many things you have to do.

If you’re like me, you probably take mental notes on everything you have to do right now, tomorrow or during the entire week. On the other hand, if you’re like me, your forgetful ass doesn’t remember half of it. ADHD and procrastination have entered the chat.

So, how do you keep things in order so that you know what to do and when you have to do it? By creating lists of course! Tonight I want you to whip out your phone or notepad with pen or pencil and take some notes with me.

By creating lists, not only will they help you stay organized, they will help you in giving you an overall look of the tasks that need to be done so you can mentally prepare to charge ahead. Having a list doesn’t have to be boring as you can organize the tasks by topics and in the order of your preference.

Utilizing lists can also keep you accountable so that you do the thing or things you’re avoiding to do, eventually you’ll have to do them and the list will be there to remind you of it. Like me when I have to workout but I skip a day, unless it was necessary to skip a day due to other tasks that got on the way I do my best to not skip a workout day, especially if it’s out of laziness. However, you have the freedom to organize your tasks in the order that you desire, so you can take care of the less pleasant tasks first and reward yourself with the easier tasks for last!
