Hi everyone! Welcome to another episode of the Spiritual Alien Podcast.
So, tonight I want to share with you a personal experience I had this past week and why there’s no interview tonight. You may already suspect why by the sudden change in my voice.
After last week’s episode, I was supposed to connect with one out of a couple guests for an interview for tonight’s episode. However, that never happened because I have been feeling unwell for several weeks. I never mentioned anything to you during the intermission episodes because I didn’t find it relevant to do so. At first I was confused and frustrated, because I wanted to do what I was supposed to do, but I couldn’t. So after much hesitation, I announced it on my social media that I had changed my mind and that I was not going to interview someone for this weekend’s episode and that I was going to rest instead.
This can be both good and bad and I will explain to you why. When you are a content creator, people get used to the content that you put out, especially if you give them expectations on what’s next. If you fail to deliver, you get backlash, which I am sure you have seen before with other public figures. In my case, I was running low on energy, plus dealing with hayfever has been a challenge this year as my treatments are no longer working and I have not been able to get a more aggressive treatment. I have constant headaches and nosebleeds and I simply cannot do my work properly of interviewing someone if I am constantly sneezing, with swollen, watery and itchy eyes along with a Barry White voice, so connecting with someone 1 on 1 felt too much, despite it not looking like a big deal for other people. This reminds me of depression and how people think you will just get over it, but I digress.
I like to be professional with my work and what I put out there for you to listen and benefit from. I also like to be professional with my guests, treat them well, be attentive to what they share with you and myself, I like to make them laugh and have fun with me. I love breaking the ice with them and crack a bad joke or a pun to see their reactions.
However, this time I am not in the right mindset, I don’t feel aligned with my body due to how my body has been acting recently, so I cannot be present with them and be my usual sneaky self, if that makes sense. I feel that interviewing a guest while I’m blowing my nose or sneezing every minute is highly unprofessional and I would rather not do interviews at all. To some people this may not seem like such a big deal but I take it seriously because it’s my work. It’s my job to entertain you and inform you while being as high vibrational as possible, but this time I want to apologize to you for not meeting that goal tonight.
However, because you know I love to overthink and overanalyze things, there’s a small twist to this episode. I wanted to share all of this with you because I want you to understand that there will be times when you will change your mind on certain things for whatever reason that may be and it’s perfectly okay to feel guilty or bad for not continuing to think, believe and feel that way, it’s okay if you no longer want to do the thing that you originally intended to do, for no longer resonating with what you used to, for finding a different approach and so on. This doesn’t mean you failed, but simply that you are finding another way, finding other options, readjusting things or that you outgrew things depending on your situation!
It’s okay if you desire to do the thing, it’s okay to no longer desire to do the thing, it’s okay to change your mind, it’s okay to approach something from a different perspective or point of view or with a new solution. It’s also perfectly okay if you are uncertain, nobody has it all figured out. We are all pretending to have our shit together when in fact, a majority of us don’t even know where we left our shit, so don’t think that you need to have it all figured out.
Never be afraid to do something different, to think different, to be different, but most importantly, do not be afraid to say No. No will be the most powerful thing you will ever say. Saying No will show you who’s on your side and who isn’t, saying No will show you who respects your boundaries and who doesn’t. And those who don’t, I want you to tell them to fuck off out of your life.
With that said, I will love you and leave you, I hope you enjoy St. Patrick’s Day, have a safe and fun holiday whatever you are up to and may luck always be on your side.
