Hi everyone! Welcome to another episode of the Spiritual Alien Podcast.
So, I wanted to drop by very quickly to let you know that we are now on Amazon Music!!
Ok! So we are now on Amazon Music. What does this mean for you and why should you care? Well, it means that if you are having any issues with or if you simply don’t like to use iTunes/Apple Podcasts, or Google Play, or Spotify, or Stitcher, whether in your Mac, PC or smartphone devices, or you listen to my podcast elsewhere but you are a heavy Amazon Music user, you will now be able to listen to me talk your ears off directly on Amazon Music!
Amazon Music is a streaming service included with your Prime membership at no extra charge. For Prime members it features more than 2 million songs — including thousands of stations and top playlists — all ad-free. What’s more, you can listen offline and with unlimited skips.
I am thankful to Amazon Music for welcoming me and for allowing me to host and distribute my podcast on their platform as well, and for approving it last night on my brother’s birthday. It was a very special treat to see the email notification during a break between dinner and dessert. So I am happy and honored to announce that you can now find me on Amazon Music and follow my podcast there as well.
If you’re fancy, you probably have one of those Decepticons sitting around somewhere in your home, called Echo, waiting to kill you– I mean, waiting for your commands. So you can tell Alexa to play my podcast. Wait, can that actually be done? Or is it just with music? Let’s try this out, take a short video of your Echo device while you tell it to play my podcast and tag me in your Instagram story @zionzeta.
Tonight’s episode is short, sweet and to the point as I wanted to share with you this awesome update. I don’t even know how this happened but one thing for sure is that out of all places, I never expected to make it to Amazon Music, I honestly didn’t even know that this was actually a thing!
I will say though, it is both funny and ironic that this came out of nowhere, because I was actually considering to bring this podcast to an end by the end of this year. I won’t bore you with the details, but it has to do with having way too much on my plate and wanting to narrow things down in hopes to be more focused with my work. However, it’s your feedback that keeps me going. Sometimes I think that maybe my content is not good enough or that it’s boring, but then I get an email or a DM on Instagram from a random someone saying “Hey I like your podcast.” and that feels so damn good.
After the Tik-Tokers raided my website and made me run out of autographed book copies, after they raided my social media pages and the podcast itself, I started to reconsider. Maybe I AM good enough, just with the wrong people, so to speak. So I deactivated my personal Facebook profile and I have been gone for over a month. Only about 3 people have attempted to reach out to me and they are not even regular friends that I talk to regularly as in every day. So, shoutout to Brad, Josh and Luigi, if you guys listen to the podcast. I have seen you but have not responded, and I know…roast me all you want. In fact, that’s how I’m known in the gaming community, the one who never responds.
Doing a social media detox is good for your mental health and it’s needed from time to time, especially during these hectic times we’re living in and I am sure you know what I’m referring to here. I got tired and bored of the political arguments coming from all sides so I decided to retreat. There is no point in arguing with QAnon anti-maskers, pandemic-deniers and racism-deniers. And unfortunately, 90% of those are my friends. Well, put quotes to that because I don’t think I can consider them friends any longer. They think we live in fear when in fact they are the ones who think they will die for using a mask and I don’t have time for that bullshit. That’s why I left.
This time I struggled for 2 weeks, wanting to come back and be with all of them again, even if their beliefs made me sick to my stomach, but I held back. I kept thinking back on how I tried to be open-minded, how I tried to be tolerant and accepting, but there are times when the bullshit is so huge and so stinky that you have to do something about it, so I abandoned everyone. But it was difficult. Stockholm syndrome, I wanted to be with them even though their thinking and their actions were affecting my mental and physical health. So whenever I’d look back on why I left, it reinforced my decision of staying the fuck away. And boom, over a month has gone by and I feel so damn good. Now, I just play games and hang out with a bunch of online strangers. My mental health has gotten so much better and I am feeling productive again. So, no, the podcast won’t go anywhere. I am staying.
So, that concludes the purpose of this episode, I wanted to thank you so much for joining me in The Spiritual Alien podcast. Take care and I’ll speak to you soon!
